About This Show

Returning to Chicago for the first time in 35 years, the world-renowned Batsheva Dance Company of Israel presents Artistic Director Ohad Naharin’s signature work Deca Dance for one weekend only at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Demonstrating the fluid, athletic, and distinct authenticity of Naharin’s style, Deca Dance features a compilation of excerpts from Naharin’s existing works, reorganized and configured into a new experience. First performed in 2000, it includes the original works: “B/olero” (2008); “Max” (2007); “Telephaza” (2006); “Three” (2005); “Naharin’s Virus” (2001); “Zachacha” (1998); “Anaphaza” (1993) and “Mabul” (1992). For a truly unique experience, join Naharin for a post-performance discussion following the opening night performance on Feb. 7. Following the matinee performance on Feb. 8, get the inside perspective of a Batsheva dancer’s experience during a post-performance discussion with  company members.
