Brighton Beach Memoirs

Set in Brooklyn in 1937, this coming-of-age comedy focuses on a teenager who experiences puberty, sexual awakening and the search for identity as he tries to deal with his out-of-sorts family. Based on Simon’s memories of growing up in Brooklyn in the years just before World War II, Brighton Beach Memoirs is the first of a trilogy including Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound.
