About This Show

Emerald City Theatre Company’s smash hit musical A Nutcracker Christmas is Chicago’s newest seasonal tradition for families. Boasting a book by Jeff Award-winning playwright G. Riley Mills, and a toe-tapping kiddie rock score by Ralph Covert of Ralph’s World and Bad Examples fame, the show is back for its second year. When a spunky boy named Fritz is left home alone on Christmas Eve a magical night of adventure ensues. Encountering a brave Nutcracker, mischievous Sugar Plum Fairies, a rock star Mayor of Toy Town, a sweet ballerina, and of course, the evil Mouse King, Fritz must save the day. Luckily, he’s a level-22 player of Mouse Hunter 5000.

A Nutcracker Christmas is best suited for ages 3 and up. All kids receive a special kid-sized program, and get to meet the actors after the show.
