About the Show

Deposed from his dukedom and marooned for 12 years on a remote island, the magician Prospero at last has the chance to use his powers to take revenge on the men who have wronged him – only to discover that love and forgiveness work the most potent magic of all.

The Tempest belongs to a group of Shakespeare’s plays known as the “late romances.” These plays combine both comedy and tragedy, and usually contain elements of the fantastic and the supernatural. Other examples are Pericles, Cymbeline, and The Winter’s Tale.
