About This Show

Multi-award winning actor and playwright Linda Griffiths performs her solo work-in-progress The Last Dog of War, a one-woman Battle of Britain, as a benefit performance for Theatre Passe Muraille.

Linda Griffiths has an illustrious 30-year history with Theatre Passe Muraille. This very special one-night-only benefit performance is her gift to the company as Layne Coleman prepares to retire as its artistic director.

The Last Dog of War tells the true-life story of a trip Griffiths made with her father to Fiskerton in the United Kingdom, where they attend the very last reunion of his WWII comrades, the Royal Air Force 49th Squadron, Bomber Command.

It’s a story about war: the war between the Allies and Nazis – and between a father and daughter. It’s the last night, the last chance for her to comprehend real war, the last chance for the Old Bastard to show his scars. It’s a fierce and wondrous trip as father and daughter travel through many obstacles towards guns blazing in the night – from urban Toronto to the empty airfields of the Lancaster bombers in Yorkshire, England.
