Festen Helge (Eric Peterson) is celebrating his 60th birthday at their family-run hotel. Gathered together are his loyal wife Elsa (Martha Burns), his daughter Helene (Tara Rosling), his sons Michael (Allan Hawco) and Christian (Philip Riccio), and their guests.
