About This Show

One of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time, Godspell is the product of an era of theatrical experimentation. The show, which is not built on a traditional plot, utilizes improvisation, pantomime, charades, and vaudeville to tell the story of Christ. Godspell has a very serious edge, and it has a number of very serious messages about compassion, forgiveness, community, hypocrisy, and giving one’s life for one’s beliefs. As the cast makes its way through their personal journey to understanding a message of love, we as audience members get to see the parables of Jesus Christ come to life in a way that can’t fail to gladden our hearts.
