Don Juan seduces — often with violence and pleasure — young women of noble families, fighting their champions, killing their fathers and eventually paying the consequences. This production approaches this classic tale in the mode of the grotesque — marrying comedy and tragedy — by highlighting the theatricality of seduction. Performers play multiple roles, switch costumes on stage, and manipulate their own lights, sets and props. Audiences can expect to not only laugh and be moved by this innovative performance, but to think differently and further about the relationship between hypocrisy and seduction.
