With Darkness Behind Us, Daylight Has Come, Jude Narita’s latest multi-media one-woman show, deals with the effects of the internment camps on three different generations of Japanese-American women. An Issei (first generation) woman struggles to build a family business; a Nisei (second generation) woman believes in community and writes newsletters to keep people in touch; a teenage Nisei who is angry at being in an internment camp; and a Sansei (third generation) inexplicably drawn to building, who realizes through what hardships her grandparents and parents built their lives. Live music is provided by George Abe.
