This whirlwind comedy depicts the surprise transformation of a celebrity gossip magazine publisher when, on a lark, he picks up a homeless woman on Laguna Canyon Road to win a rush-hour race to L.A. by taking the carpool lane. The fleeting nature of fame in America’s disposable culture looms heavily over one man’s decision that the time has come for him to do the right thing.
