About This Show
Unknown Theater Company presents a special event, a hybrid of dance performance and rock-show. The event is a collaboration between contemporary pole-dancing troupe, Goddess 13, and the sensually psychedelic rock-band, Vibrasol. The piece features dancer/choreographers Laura Lynn Balcerzak and Kristina Lloyd, and musicians Angie Donkin (lead vocals), Robbie Pugliese (guitar), Phil Turner (bass), Maura Mb (backing vocals), Jay Golden (electric violin), Jay Setar (drums), Raffaele Cannizzaro (flute, keyboard, synth), Paul Bertin (saxophone), Nonagon (electronic music).
The performance takes the audience on a journey that parallels the cycle of the sun with the ongoing repetitive battle to discover one’s identity as a woman. The piece is inspired by astrology and mythological archetypes which evoke the experience of the on-going evolution of women in society. The result is an extraordinary evening of thought-provoking, sensual dance by Goddess 13 and original music by Vibrasol.
