Frederique Michel directs his adaptation of Aimee Bender’s book The Girl in the Flammable Skirt. Bender portrays a world twisted on its axis, a place of unconvention that resembles nothing so much as real life in all its grotesque, beautiful glory. With characters whose lives are shaped by the power of extraordinary desires, these stories include surprising morals.
