About This Show

Mel Edison is 46 years old and 22 of those years have been spent climbing the corporate ladder, a ladder that just gave way. Mel lost his job as an Advertising Account Executive on Monday and didn’t tell his wife Edna until Thursday when he came home to find their ransacked apartment. The robbers were kind enough to leave Mel his khaki pants and a golf cap, but they took almost everything else including the Valium, toothpaste and the good scotch. Mel as you might surmise is a little on edge. Enter his loving family, including brother Harry, the successful businessman still bitter about the love and pampering his younger brother received as a child — and he didn’t. Sisters, Pearl, Jessie and Pauline, quite eccentric, in their own way, took care of Mel when he was little and in his present state they are there to help again — as long as he gets better in a hurry.
