New York City
Boulevard Productions presents Party of 13, written and directed by James Underdown and produced by Keith Jeffreys. The play is a VERY modern re-telling of the Last Supper that takes a unique look at a famous event in first-century Jerusalem. What would it look and sound like if thirteen diverse characters met for pizza on one of the most dramatic nights of their lives? What would it be like if the group was Jesus and the twelve Apostles? This raucous, funny, and poignant play shows a group of veteran social revolutionaries arguing over who will take over while Jesus leaves town to evade political persecution. Staged in the round, Party of 13 is an opportunity for audiences to eavesdrop on an altogether today approach to one of the most famous nights in history.
There are two special Sunday matinee performances (Sunday, March 14 and Sunday April 4th) with a post-show discussion with UCLA’s Director of the Center for Religious Studies, Dr. Scott Bartchy at 2:00pm.
