About This Show

Weiko Lin’s Mommy’s Special — set in the back lot of a Chinatown dive bar where two complete strangers confront their dark pasts and discover the disturbing ties between them — is presented as a workshop performance at the East West Players David Henry Hwang Theater in Little Tokyo.

It’s been a long night for Mommy, a bartending lush in a Chinatown dive bar. She finds Rizza stranded in the parking lot, only to learn about her plan to commit suicide before sunrise. In a last ditch effort to dissuade her, Mommy offers herself in a suicide pact. Throughout the night, the strange connections in their dark pasts interweave, leading to a final confrontation.
