About This Show

Two-Headed tells the story of Hettie and Lavinia who in the fall of 1857 were 10-year-old friends in Utah’s Salt Lake Valley when a wagon train of 127 immigrants from Missouri and Arkansas was attacked by Mormon zealots in what became known as the Mountain Meadows Massacre, an event not forgotten for the rest of their lives. As the play follows the women’s friendship through 40 years, it shows Hettie and Lavinia trying to find a place of their own in a strict, patriarchal society while struggling with the hard facts of Mormon frontier history. Crafted in a gentle, poetic way the play gives credit to the brave, bold and hardworking women of 19th-century Mormon Utah. The cast is comprised of local actors Alison Hutchinson and Cathy Smith. Petra Ehrenbrink directs.
