About This Show

Revels’ Glen celebrates the music of Ireland’s legendary Christy Moore. The tribute to this Irish music legend will be performed by Revels’ Glen, the popular local Irish duo. Christy Moore is contemporary Ireland’s finest singer and songwriter. The former lead vocalist and chief songwriter of musical groups Planxty and Moving Hearts, Moore helped bring Ireland’s musical traditions up to modern standards. As a solo artist, Moore has continued to weave elements of rock and popular music into the traditional tunes to create well-crafted musical tapestries that have inspired such modern Irish artists as U2, Sinead O’Connor and the Pogues. Christy continues to tour throughout Europe. The duo Revels’ Glen are local musicians Bill McElaney and Tom Lanngan, both originally from Ireland, who have entertained audiences in both Ireland and New England.

Recent performances in Ireland include O’Connors Pub in Doolin, County Clare; The Boars Head in Dublin; and The Seaview Tavern in Malin Head County Donegal. In New England they can be seen in Newport Rhode Island at Sabina Dole’s Pub; The Inn At Long Trail in Killington Vermont; Murphy’s at the University of New Hampshire, and a host of other pubs where their rollicking and fun-loving performances never fail to make the pints go down a bit smoother. They have open for such notable performers as Paddy Reilly, Larry Kirwin of Black 47, and the Commitments.

This multimedia tribute to Christy Moore will include music spanning Christy’s 40 years as a performer, from the hauntingly beautiful Cliffs of Doneen, to the uproarious Delirium Tremens, and everything in between. This will be a must see show for fans of Christy!
