Miss Julie
$10.00 - $20.00
Miss Julie is Swedish playwright August Strindberg’s masterpiece, set in the kitchen of a nobleman’s estate. The play centers on Miss Julie, the nobleman’s daughter. The story unfolds on Midsummer’s Eve, as Miss Julie involves herself in a dangerous tryst with her father’s valet. As the night wears on the two flirt and fight with explosive consequences. Branded “shocking,” “crude” and “immoral” by early critics, Strindberg’s mighty and incisive play on power, sex, and class is artfully adapted by acclaimed Irish dramatist Frank McGuinness. Brian C. Fahey directs.
