About This Show

Don DeLillo’s Love-Lies-Bleeding, produced by Way Theatre Artists, enjoys its Boston area premiere. The show is one of several plays written by DeLillo, who is also known for his gripping novels. Greg Maraio directs.

Love-Lies-Bleeding intimately explores the emotional politics of discerning the worthiness of a life and the power to end it. Time weaves in and out simultaneously showing the life of a man and his current state of being. Two actors portray Alex, an artist, father and husband, whose life dangles on a thread of debate among three unlikely loved ones. Throughout this heatedly tender and surprisingly comical encounter, the subtle distinction between "living" and "being" plagues the three. They fight to distinguish their own pain from his and the needs of the present from the needs of the seemingly absent.
