About This Show

This original adaptation imagines a Dr. Faustus who is beset with ridicule for his orthodox theology and feminine appearance. No longer comfortable in his native Germany, he leaves with his protege Wagner to become a master magician with a traveling circus in Paris. Unfortunatley, the move does little to improve Faustus’ position amongst his peers and he is consumed by the resulting despair. Nearly at his wit’s end, he discovers a book of black magic and seeks salvation in the pages of his forbidden text. His attempts at conjuring peak the curiosity of the most unusual of ringmasters, one Mephistopheles, who offers Faustus what he’s always wanted in exchange for…his soul.
