Two-Time Tony Award Winner Bebe Neuwirth Hits 54 Below
The Broadway veteran returns to the New York stage with a fresh cabaret act, Stories with Piano No. 4.
Multiple Emmy and Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago) returns to the stage with her cabaret act, Stories with Piano No. 4, currently running at the Broadway nightclub at 54 Below through March 23.
Neuwirth, whose recent theatrical appearances include performances as opera diva Maria Malibran in Terrence McNally's Golden Age, Hippolyta and Titania in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Morticia Addams in Broadway's The Addams Family, offered a preview of her act at the venue on Monday, March 18. Performing the Kander & Ebb standard "Ring Them Bells" and the folk song "Mr. Bojangles," Neuwirth showed off the concert's eclectic set list, which ranges from Broadway standards to tunes by the likes of Tom Waits.
A Tony Award winner for her work in Sweet Charity and Chicago, Neuwirth has also appeared in Fosse, Damn Yankees, Little Me, Dancin', and A Chorus Line. She received two Emmy Awards for her performance as the icy Dr. Lilith Sternin on the hit television comedy Cheers.
