Matilda Star Taylor Trensch and More Will Showcase the Works of Broadway's Future Stars With Little Miss Sunshine Composer William Finn at 54 Below
Two-time Tony winner Finn will feature the works of young writers and composers onstage at the annual concert.
Two-time Tony winner William Finn will host Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don't Know but Should, an annual concert that celebrates the work of young writers who have been mentored by Finn. The show will take place Monday, December 16, at 54 Below.
During the concert, Finn will illustrate what makes a good song great by featuring personal favorites from the Barrington Stage Company series. Songs will be performed by past cast members, including Sally Wilfert, Anne L. Nathan, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Elisabeth Stanley, Alysha Umphress, Taylor Trensch, Mykal Kilgore, Jeremy Morse, Michael Linden, and Amanda Savan.
Also featured will be new works by Will Aronson, Nikko Benson, Julian Blackmore, Sam Chanse, Joey Contreras, Jessica DiGiancinto, Josh Freilich, Emily Goldman, Joe Iconis, Michael R. Jackson, Alana Jacoby, Bob Kelly, Laura Klienbaum, Salomon Lerner, Sara Nicholson, Brian Pugach, Brett Ryback, Sean Patterson, Jenny Stafford, Katya Stanislavskaya, Liz Suggs, Frank Terry, and Niko Tsakalakos.
Finn, the composer of musicals such as Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee, and the currently running Little Miss Sunshine, serves as artistic director at Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab, where the Ridiculously Talented concert series originated eight years ago.
The concert is produced and directed by Shakina Nayfack. Jeremy R. Lyons is the musical director.
