Julia Stiles Returns to New York Theater in Scott Organ's Phoenix at the Cherry Lane Theatre
The Emmy and Golden Globe nominee will star alongside James Wirt.
Julia Stiles will return to the New York stage opposite James Wirt in a fresh take on Scott Organ's play Phoenix, running from July 28-August 23 at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Jennifer DeLia will direct the production, which officially opens August 7.
Phoenix is a one-act dark comedy that follows Bruce (James Wirt) and Sue (Julia Stiles), who meet four weeks after an uncharacteristic one-night stand. Bruce is fueled by a compulsion to join Sue in Phoenix, while she is reluctantly charmed by his persistence. Through their interaction, both are forced to consider a new world of possibility.
Stiles is known for the films 10 Things I Hate About You and the Bourne series with Matt Damon, as well as David Mamet's Oleanna on Broadway. She and Wirt will also costar with Lily Rabe, Michael Pitt, Billy Magnussen, and Louisa Krause in Julie Pacino and Jennifer DeLia's upcoming film The First.
The design team will be announced at a later date.
