Jodie Foster, Liza Minnelli, Chris Noth, and More Salute Alan Cumming on Broadway Opening Night of Macbeth
Guests also included Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Esposito, and Julianna Margulies.
A star-studded crowd of well-wishers were on hand at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Sunday, April 21 to celebrate the opening night of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, starring Tony Award winner Alan Cumming in a bravura performance of almost every character. Following the party, Cumming, fellow-cast members Jenny Sterlin and Brendan Titley, and guests headed to the Hudson Terrace for more opening-night festivities.
Codirected by John Tiffany and Andrew Goldberg, this revival, originally produced by the National Theatre of Scotland, finds Cumming as a deranged mental patient who ritualistically reenacts Shakespeare's supernatural tragedy in a locked ward while being watched on closed-circuit television by a Doctor (Sterlin) and Orderly (Titley).
Guests at the opening included Liza Minnelli, Jodie Foster, Julianna Margulies, Bernadette Peters, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jonny Lee Miller, Chris Noth, Kathy Najimy, Jennifer Esposito, Saffron Burrows, Josh Charles, Corbin Bleu, and more.
