Broadway veterans Jeremy Jordan (Newsies), Norm Lewis (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), Jennifer Laura Thompson (Nice Work If You Can Get It), and Julia Murney (Falling), along with Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA, joined the New York Pops on April 12 to celebrate the 65th birthday of composer Stephen Schwartz in The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz at Carnegie Hall. The concert was conducted by Steven Reineke.

TheaterMania was on hand during the Friday afternoon dress rehearsal to hear the performers sing tunes from Schwartz's many musicals, including Children of Eden, The Baker's Wife, The Magic Show, Pippin, Godspell, and Wicked, along with selections from the films The Prince of Egypt, Pocahontas, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
