Jackie Hoffman Joins the Broadway Revival of On the Town

The comic actress will be part of the cast of the Bernstein, Comden, and Green musical.

Jackie Hoffman will take on the role of Madame Dilly in the Broadway revival of On the Town this fall.

The upcoming Broadway revival of On the Town has announced that Theatre World Award-winning Broadway veteran and comedian Jackie Hoffman (Xanadu, Hairspray, The Addams Family) will join the cast as Madame Dilly. As previously announced, the Broadway company will star Tony Yazbeck, Jay Armstrong Johnson, and Clyde Alves as sailors-on-leave Gabey, Chip, and Ozzie, with Megan Fairchild, Alysha Umphress, and Elizabeth Stanley as the women who win their hearts: Ivy, Hildy, and Claire.

Umphress, Stanley, Yazbeck, Johnson, and Alves reprise roles they created in a summer 2013 production at Barrington Stage Company. John Rando, who helmed that staging, repeats his work at Broadway's Lyric Theatre, with Joshua Bergasse serving as choreographer.

Created by the legendary creative team of Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and Jerome Robbins, On the Town writes a musical love letter to New York City. Performances will begin at the Lyric Theatre on September 20 in advance of an October 16 opening.
