Ghost National Tour to Haunt Schenectady, NY
Ghost The Musical will launch its first U.S. national tour at Schenectady's Proctors Theater.
In the words of Oda Mae Brown: Schenectady, you in danger, girl! The Broadway and West End musical Ghost will launch its first U.S. national tour and its first stop will be in Schenectady, NY at the Proctors Theater. The run is scheduled to open on September 14, 2013.
Adapted from the 1990 Academy Award-winning film, Ghost The Musical is a fantasy story about the power of love. Set in modern-day New York City, the plot follows the journey of Sam and Molly after Sam's murder leaves him as a ghost, trapped between this world and the next. He is unable to leave Molly behind after learning that she is in grave danger. Sam employs the help of a phony storefront psychic in an attempt to communicate with Molly and protect her from danger.
Ghost The Musical features a score by Dave Stewart of the Grammy Award-winning Eurythmics and Grammy Award winner Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill). The tuner also has a book by Bruce Joel Rubin (Jacob's Ladder, The Time Traveler's Wife), who penned the original Academy Award-winning screenplay. Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage) will also lend his Broadway direction to the tour. But what we really can't wait to come to our hometown is the scene that convinced us all to take a pottery class. Am I right?
