Charles Busch's The Tribute Artist Receives Two-Week Extension
Busch's longtime collaborator Carl Andress directs.
Primary Stages has announced a two-week extension for The Tribute Artist, Tony-nominee Charles Busch's world premiere comedy. The production, which was originally scheduled to close on March 16, will now run through March 30 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Carl Andress, Busch's longtime collaborator, directs.
Busch leads the company as an out-of-work female impersonator who takes on the identity of his suddenly deceased landlady in order to remain in her Greenwich Village townhouse. Written specifically for Primary Stages, The Tribute Artist features Busch's signature blend of quick-witted banter and gender-bending.
The Tribute Artist features Mary Bacon (Giant), Cynthia Harris (Lost in Yonkers), Julie Halston (Anything Goes), Keira Keeley (The Glass Menagerie), and Jonathan Walker (The Assembled Parties).
Scenic design is by Anna Louizos, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, sound design by Jill BC Du Boff, original music by Lewis Flinn, and wig design by Katherine Carr.
