Broadway's Rock of Ages to Welcome Carrie St. Louis From the Show's Las Vegas Production
St. Louis will take over the role of Sherrie from Kate Rockwell on April 21.
Broadway's Rock of Ages has announced that Carrie St. Louis will head to New York straight from the show's Las Vegas production to take on the role of Sherrie after Kate Rockwell steps out of it on April 20. St. Louis' April 21 performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre will mark her Broadway debut.
Directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine, the five-time Tony nominated Rock of Ages features a book by Chris D'Arienzo and a score that includes hits by 1980s hair-metal bands like Night Ranger, Twisted Sister, Foreigner, Poison, REO Speedwagon, and Journey. The 2012 film adaptation starred Russell Brand, Tom Cruise, Julianne Huff, and Mary J. Blige.
St. Louis originated the role of Sherrie in the Las Vegas production, which opened on January 5, 2013.
The show's current Broadway cast includes Aaron C. Finley as Drew, Joey Calveri as Stacee Jaxx, Genson Blimline as Lonny, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Randi Zuckerberg as Regina (through April 6), Paul Schoeffler as Hertz, and Teresa Stanley as Justice. Rounding out the cast are Tessa Alves, Andrew Call, Cristy Candler, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Cassie Silva, Andre Ward, and Neka Zang.
