The Off-Broadway League announced today that the 28th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at New York University's Skirball Center, at 7 PM. Stage and screen actors Aasif Mandvi (Disgraced) and Emmy nominee Maura Tierney (Lucky Guy) will host. The nominations will be announced on April 3.

The Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were created in 1985 by the Off-Broadway League to recognize great contributions to the theater community that do not reach the Broadway stage. The voting committee includes theater journalists and academics, as well as representatives of the Off-Broadway League, Actors' Equity Association, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and the Lucille Lortel Foundation.

This year, Todd Haimes will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Haimes has been the executive director of Roundabout Theatre Company since 1990, and is a member of Board of Directors of A.R.T./New York. He has also taught Theatre Administration in the Graduate Programs at the Yale School of Drama and Brooklyn College.

Playwright Neil LaBute will also be receiving a star on the Playwrights' Sidewalk in front of the historic Lucille Lortel Theatre. Mr. LaBute will next direct MCC Theater's production of his play, Reasons to Be Happy this May, a companion piece to reasons to be pretty (which earned three Tony nominations). The play was billed as the third in a trilogy that included The Shape of Things and Fat Pig, all of which centered on the subject of physical beauty.

The ceremony will be open to the general public and tickets are available online at
