Broadway Veteran Kathryn Meisle Set for the Guthrie Theater's Clybourne Park
The full cast will also feature Ansa Akyea, Shá Cage, Emily Gunyou Halaas, and others.
Ansa Akyea, Shá Cage, Emily Gunyou Halaas, Peter Christian Hansen, Steven Lee Johnson, Jim Lichtscheidl, Bill McCallum, and Tony Award nominee Kathryn Meisle (A Touch of the Poet) have been cast in the upcoming Guthrie Theater production of Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park. Lisa Peterson will direct the production, which will play June 1-August 4, with an official opening on June 7.
Clybourne Park is a Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning work, written by Norris in reaction to the classic play A Raisin in the Sun. It examines the changes in one Chicago neighborhood over a half century, from a group of neighbors who try to talk their friends out of selling their home, to a black family in 1959, to the sparks that fly when a white family attempts to move into the now-predominantly African-American neighborhood sixty years later.
The play's design team will include David Zinn (costumes), Rachel Hauck (sets), Mark Barton (lighting), and Reid Resja (sound).
