Primary Stages celebrated the centennial of playwright Horton Foote with a gala on October 17. The organization is currently presenting Foote's drama The Roads to Home at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

The evening featured performances and tributes from Betty Buckley, Elizabeth Ashley, Harriet Harris, Jayne Houdyshell, Estelle Parsons, Molly Ringwald, and others, as well as special guests including Matthew Broderick, A.R. Gurney, and Lois Smith.

Over the history of the organization, Primary Stages has collaborated with Foote on productions of his plays The Day Emily Married and Dividing the Estate, among others. It also serves as a theatrical home for Foote's daughters, the playwright Daisy Foote and the actress Hallie Foote, who appears in The Roads to Home.
