Tony Award winners Jane Alexander, Blythe Danner, and Hugh Jackman were among the many theater veterans who claimed victory at the 57th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last evening.

Alexander was named Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for playing Sara Delano Roosevelt in HBO’s Warm Springs. Danner, who made Emmy history by receiving three separate nominations this year, took home the gold as Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Huff. Jackman received his statuette for Best Individual Performance for hosting the 2004 Tony Awards.

Other big winners last night were Felicity Huffman, named Best Actress in a Comdey Series for Desperate Housewives; S. Epatha Merkerson, Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Lackawanna Blues; Paul Newman, Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Empire Falls; Doris Roberts, who won her fifth Emmy as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Everybody Loves Raymond; and Tony Shalhoub, who picked up his second Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy for Monk. Brad Garrett, who will make his Broadway debut next month as Murray the Cop in The Odd Couple, earned his third Emmy as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for Everybody Loves Raymond.

These winners join those people and programs who were awarded Emmys on Sunday, September 11 during the Emmys’ Creative Arts Ceremony, including actors Bobby Cannavale, Keith David, Ray Liotta, and Amanda Plummer; the PBS miniseries Broadway: The American Musical; and the Live from Lincoln Center telecast of Stephen Sondheim’s Passion.
