Butler, Egan, McGovern, O’Hara et al. to Appear at Barnes & Noble in May

Kerry Butler, John Treacy Egan, Maureen McGovern, and Kelli O’Hara are among the artists who will be appearing in May at free events at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center Triangle (Broadway and 66th Street)

On Monday, May 5 at 5:30pm, McGovern debuts her new CD, A Long and Winding Road. On Wednesday, May 7 at 6pm, Melody Breyer-Grell will celebrate the Gershwin brothers with a jazz-infused cabaret performance. Margie Balter will talk about her experiences in the movies, teaching Hollywood legends how to “play” on screen, and play in her own soothing style on Thursday, May 8 at 6:30pm.

On Monday, May 12 at 6pm, Israeli jazz guitarist Roni Ben-Hur will play his interpretations of music ranging from Victor Herbert to Thelonious Monk as well as some original compositions. South Pacific star Kelli O’Hara will celebrate the release of her first solo CD, Wonder in the World, with highlights from the album on Monday, May 12 at 7:30pm. On Wednesday, May 14 at 6pm, the cast of Adrift in Macao will perform highlights from the show with creators Peter Melnick and Christopher Durang.

Kerry Butler will celebrate the release of her new solo CD, Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust on Thursday, May 15 at 5:30pm. Kevin Dorn’s Traditional Jazz Collective will perform their upbeat twist to classic American melodies on Monday, May 19 at 6pm. On Wednesday, May 21 at 6pm, Jonathan Whitton will play his interpretations of classic and contemporary American songs. John Treacy Egan will mark his solo-CD debut with selections from Count Your Stars on Wednesday, May 28 at 6pm. Finally, the cast of the Broadway musical A Catered Affair will share some of the songs from the score on Thursday, May 29 at 5:30pm.
