Edwards, Graae, McNair, Osgood, Whiting Set for Johnny Mercer at the Movies

Singers Amber Edwards, Jason Graae, Sylvia McNair, and Margaret Whiting will participate in Johnny Mercer at the Movies, part of the 92nd Street Y’s Lyrics and Lyricists series, May 6-8. The evening will be hosted by CBS newscaster Charles Osgood. The artistic director is author and theater historian Robert Kimball.

Mercer wrote lyrics to more than 1,200 songs in his career, including such popular Hollywood favorites as “On the Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe,” “In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening,” and “Days of Wine and Roses,” all of which won the Academy Award for Best Song.
