The film version of Doubt, written and directed by John Patrick Shanley and starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis, has now earned more than $25 million at the domestic box office, according to published reports.

Doubt opened in limited release on December 12 and is currently playing on 725 screens. It is considered a strong contender in many categories for the Academy Awards; nominations are to be announced on Thursday, January 22.

The film has garnered a slew of awards and award nominations so far, including the National Board of Review Awards for Best Ensemble Cast and for Best Breakthrough Performance for Davis, and a Best Actress Award for Streep from the Broadcast Film Critics Circle. All four of its stars are nominated for the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards, which will be handed out on January 25, and the entire cast is nominated for Outstanding Performance, the group’s highest honor.
