Theatre Alliance Announces 2009 Season

Theatre Alliance has announced the line up of their 2009 season, which will center around the idea of the feminine metaphor.

The season will open with Here’s to the Women! The Women of Tin Pan Alley, February 5-22, Joanne Schmoll’s cabaret celebrating the work of Billie Holiday, Kay Swift, and Dorothy Fields, among others with Jessica Burgess at the helm. Victor Lodato’s The Bread of Winter, the haunting tale of a world in the not-too-distant future, will have it’s world premiere with direction by Dorothy Neumann, April 16-May 9.

The Woman Who Amuses Herself, also written by Lodato, will see it’s East Coast premiere with Kasi Campbell at the helm, May 15-June 6, the true story of a man who stole the famous painting of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in order to return it to Italy. The season will close with Five Flights by Adam Bock, about a family deciding what to do with the dilapidated aviary of their late mother, June 12-18. Shirley Serotsky will direct.
