The musical was nominated for 13 Tony Awards and won six. It was made into a movie starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé, and Jamie Foxx in 2006. Dreamgirls follows girl group The Dreamettes on their rise to success in the music world. The show is currently making its debut on London's West End.
