Sherri Shepherd will join the Broadway production of Rodgers Hammerstein's Cinderella as the Wicked Stepmother to Keke Palmer's previously announced Cinderella. The actress announced her casting today on The View, which she hosts. This role will mark Shepherd's Broadway debut when she steps into the cast on September 9.

Recently, Shepherd frequently guest-starred on the Emmy award-winning series 30 Rock as Tracy Morgan's wife, Angie Jordan. She also executive-produced and starred in her own sitcom SHERRI on Lifetime.

It was announced yesterday that actress, talk-show host, and recording artist Keke Palmer will make her Broadway debut on September 9 in the title role of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. At 21 years old, Palmer will be the youngest actress to take on the role and the first African-American to play the part on Broadway.

With a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein score, Cinderella plays the Broadway Theatre, where it officially opened on March 3, 2013. In addition to receiving a Tony nomination for Best Revival, the production, directed by Mark Brokaw, was honored with Actors' Equity's annual "Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway" award.
