After tonight, Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer and Motown founder Berry Gordy will have officially conquered the final frontier: Broadway.

Motown: The Musical, with a book written by Gordy himself, will celebrate its opening night this evening at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Featuring songs from the legendary Motown songbook, the musical tracks Gordy's journey through his career, his marriage to the great Diana Ross, and how he launched the careers of music icons like Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and many more.

Check back in tomorrow for TheaterMania's review of Motown: The Musical as well as photos from the star-studded red carpet!
