New York Theatre Workshop has announced three of its selections for the company's 2013-2014 season, which will begin with Broadway actor Kyle Riabko (Spring Awakening, Hair) starring in What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined. The show, which will feature music by the legendary songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David (Promises, Promises), will be directed by Tony Award-nominated choreographer Steven Hoggett (Once, Peter and the Starcatcher). It will open in the late fall of 2013.
Up next will be Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power (Flow and The Seven) and directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, The Whos Tommy). The work follows the days leading up to heavyweight boxing champion Cassius Clay's most anticipated fight and his controversial friendship with Hollywood star Stepin Fetchit.
The season will continue with Love and Information by Caryl Churchill (Far Away, A Number) directed by James MacDonald (Blasted, Top Girls''). The play examines society's fascination with high-speed information and how that threatens the very fundamental nature of humanity. A fourth production will be announced at a later date.
