The best of West End theater and opera will be honored on April 28 when Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville and London stage favorite Sheridan Smith (Legally Blonde) present the 2013 Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House. Leading the way on the nominations list is the National Theatre's acclaimed stage adaptation of the beloved novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which clawed its way to the top of the charts receiving a total of eight nods including Best New Play, Best Director (Marianne Elliott), and Best Actor (Luke Treadaway).

Top Hat, the Irving Berlin musical inspired by the classic film of the same title, tap-danced its way to second place, receiving a total of seven nominations, with the Chichester Festival Theatre's revivals of Sweeney Todd and Kiss Me, Kate receiving six and five nominations apiece. Stage and screen favorites like Rupert Everett (The Judas Kiss), James McAvoy (Macbeth), Helen Mirren (The Audience), Marc Rylance (Twelfth Night), and Heather Headley (The Bodyguard) also made the list.
