L.A. Theatre Works has announced that Joe Mantegna (the 1984 Broadway production of Glengarry Glen Ross), Richard Dreyfuss (Sly Fox), Bruce Davison (The Glass Menagerie), Gordon Clapp (the 2005 Broadway revival of Glengarry Glen Ross), and Richard Schiff (the 2012 Broadway revival of Glengarry Glen Ross) will star in the Mamet play's upcoming production in L.A. Eric Simonson (Magic/Bird) will direct the production, which will run May 16-19 at The James Bridges Theater.
Glengarry Glen Ross concerns a group of real estate agents involved in cut-throat competition. The gritty story shines a light on the shifting values of this male-dominated workplace. Mamet's 1984 original production of the play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Joe Mantegna won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
All of the show's performances will be recorded live in front of an audience (without sets or costumes) to air on L.A. Theatre Works' syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on-demand at www.latw.org.
