Alfred Molina and Jonathan Groff Take to the Airwaves, Performing in Red For L.A. Theatre Works' Radio Theater Series

Tony nominees Alfred Molina and Jonathan Groff have mastered both the stage and screen. It's about time they take on the final frontier of radio. Molina and Groff, who co-starred in John Logan's Red in the summer of 2012 as part of Center Theatre Group's season at the Mark Taper forum, will be reprising their roles from this production, but in a brand new medium. L.A. Theatre Works will record six performances of the show in front of a live audience at UCLA's James Bridges Theater (sans sets and costumes). These six performances, running between March 14-17, will air on L.A. Theatre Works' syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide.

Winner of six Tony Awards in 2010, including one for Best Play, Red offers a glimpse into the world of the outspoken and rather opinionated artist Mark Rothko. Molina originated the role of Rothko in its original London production. He then went on to earn a Tony nomination for his performance in the Broadway incarnation in 2010 before joining Groff (in the role of Ken) in the CTG production in 2012.
