Boston's Actors' Shakespeare Project follows up its recent modernized rendition of Shakespeare's classic love story Romeo & Juliet with a production of Henry VIII, set to run at The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University from December 11-January 5, 2014. Tina Packer will direct the play, along with co-associate directors Steven Barkhimer and Brooke Hardman.

As Shakespeare's final history play, Henry VIII offers a dramatic account of the king's famous falling-out with the Roman Catholic Church. Allyn Burrows stars in the title role, alongside featured cast members Johnnie McQuarley, Bobbie Steinbach, Robert Walsh, and Michael Forden Walker. The cast also includes Tamara Hickey, Kathryn Myles, Ross MacDonald, Craig Mathers, and Omar Robinson.

The creative team includes Janie E. Howland (scenic designer), Daniel H. Jentzen (lighting designer), Tyler Kinney (costume and mask designer), Susan Dibble (choreographer), Arshan Gailus (sound designer), Karen Kopryanski (vocal coach), and Alex Sovronsky (composer).
