Cambridge, Massachusetts' American Repertory Theater at Harvard University has broken records with its world premiere production of the Broadway-bound Finding Neverland. The musical has achieved the highest attendance for a single production in the A.R.T.'s 34-year history and has become the theater's highest-grossing production to date.

Helmed by Tony Award-winning director and A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus (Pippin), Finding Neverland features music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, a book by James Graham, and choreography by Emmy Award winner Mia Michaels. Based on David Magee's 2004 motion picture of the same name starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, as well as Allan Knee's play The Man Who Was Peter Pan, the production will conclude its 75-performance run at the Cambridge theater on Sunday, September 28, before opening on Broadway at an unspecified Nederlander theater in March 2015.

"We are delighted Finding Neverland is playing to standing room only audiences," said A.R.T. Managing Director Billy Russo. "We took a risk and launched the season in July in order to accommodate a 9-week run for the production — which is 50% longer than the standard run at the A.R.T. So far audiences have been resounding in their support and have responded in the way that confirms we were right to offer more opportunities for them to see Finding Neverland here in Cambridge."

The A.R.T. cast is led by Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) as Peter Pan creator J.M. Barrie and Laura Michelle Kelly (Mary Poppins) as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, a widowed mother of four boys whose relationship with Barrie inspires the author's most famous character.
