Arena Stage has announced the lineup of artists that will perform and events that will be offered when it hosts its Homecoming Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, October 23, from 11:30am - 6pm. The day-long event is being held as the theater completes the refurbishment of and construction at the Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, and will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30am.

Kate Baldwin, Matt Bogart, E. Faye Butler, Brad Oscar, and Alice Ripley will offer individual performances in the Kreeger Theater. They will also join cast members from the company's upcoming production of Oklahoma!, which will perform at various times throughout the day.

A series of conversations and short presentations will be offered in the company's newest theater, the Kogod Cradle, featuring artists such as Amy Freed, Marcus Gardley, Katori Hall, Lisa Kron, Charles Randolph-Wright, Anna Deavere Smith, and Karen Zacarias.

In Rehearsal Hall B, local companies will perform, including Washington Improv Theater, Arena Stage's Voices of Now, Synetic Theater, Liz Lehrman Dance Exchange, and Arena Stage's Student Playwrights Project.

The event will also include performances from The Universes, The Manzari Brothers, the Yankton Sioux Drummers and the Schlosberg Jazz Band, Nina Negri, Diego Preito, and Bayla Whitten.
