The Young Wife, Tell-Tale Lead Winners of Washington DC’s 2013 Capital Fringe Festival Audience Awards

After hundreds of performances in just under three weeks, Washington DC’s Capital Fringe Festival, the only major unjuried, self-producing, open-access festival in the DC area, has come to a close with the reveal of the annual Audience Choice Awards. Presented on July 28, the last day of the festival, seven productions were recognized in six categories.

The winners of the awards are as follows:

Best ComedyThe D.C. State Players Presents Agamemnon (D.C. State Players)

Best DramaTell-Tale (Grain of Sand Theatre)

Best Musical Theatre & OperaThe Young Wife by Katarzyna Brochocka (Unmanned Stagecraft Productions)

Best Dance and Physical TheatreA Guide to Dancing Naked (Brynn Tucker)

Best Overall Show in the 2013 Summer FestivalOne Night in New York! (Belle Époque Productions and the New Musical Foundation)

Director’s AwardThe Clocks (Not a Robot Theatre Co.) and Disco Jesus and the Apostles of Funk (Disco Jesus Productions)
