Metro Stage to Premiere Josephine Tonight Musical, Directed and Choreographed by Maurice Hines

MetroStage is set to present the world premiere of Josephine Tonight by Sherman Yellen and Wally Harper, January 26-March 18. Tony Award nominee Maurice Hines will choreograph and direct.

The musical follows the remarkable journey of Joephine Baker, a stunning talent who overcame many obstacles to become one of the the iconic, ground-breaking performers of an era.

The cast will include Zurin Villanueva (Josephine Baker), Aisha de Haas (Carrie MacDonald/ Big Bertha Smith), James T. Lane (Eddie Baker/ Paul Colin), Debra Walton (multiple roles), and James Alexander (multiple roles).

David Alan Bunn is the music director, arranger, and orchestrator, and the design team will be comprised of Klyph Stanford (set and projections design), Reggie Ray (costume design), and Jessica Winfield (lighting design).
