Kate Baldwin, Burke Moses to Star in Arena Stage’s The Music Man

Burke Moses will star as Harold Hill opposite the previously reported Kate Baldwin as Marian Paroo in the Arena Stage production of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. Molly Smith will direct the musical, which will run May 11-July 22.

The musical centers on a con man who comes to River City, Iowa and transforms the entire town, and even himself.

The cast will also include Janet Aldrich (Maude Dunlop), Will Burton (Tommy Djilas), Michael Brian Dunn (Jacey Squires), Juliane Godfrey (Zaneeta Shinn), Rayanne Gonzales (Mrs. Squires), Nehal Joshi (Marcellus Washburn), John Lescault (Mayor Shinn), Donna Migliaccio (Mrs. Paroo), Justin Lee Miller (Olin Britt), Sasha Olinick (Charlie Cowell/Constable Locke), Katerina Papacostas (Ethel Toffelmeir), Joe Peck (Ewart Dunlop/Traveling Salesman), Lawrence Redmond (Oliver Hix/Traveling Salesman), Tina Stafford (Alma Hix), Barbara Tirrell (Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn). The ensemble will include Christina Kidd Scott Shendenhelm, Eric Shorey, Kristen J. Smith, Jessica Wu, and Nicholas Yenson.

The company will also feature young actors from the D.C.-area, including Ian Berlin as Winthrop Paroo, Heidi Kaplan as Amaryllis and Jamie Goodson as Gracie Shinn. Colin James Cech and Mia Goodman appear as River City kids.

The creative team will include choreographer Parker Esse, musical director Lawrence Goldberg, set designer Eugene Lee, costume designer Judith Bowden, lighting designer Dawn Chiang, and sound designer Tim Thompson.
